Indoor Member Reflection

This year, as we continue on a pilgrimage of prayer, we focus on the prayer that Jesus taught us: the prayer that teaches us how to pray and live, the prayer that contains this amazing hope, Thy Kingdom Come!

A reflection on the Lord’s prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;

The Lord’s Prayer invites us

to speak directly to God as Father, and we are invited

to be a part of His family.

Thy Kingdom Come in Mothers’ Union as in heaven

thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.

God is king over the whole world, and we ask him to be at work in the world,

Thy Kingdom Come in Mothers’ Union as in heaven

Give us this day our daily bread.

Lets think about the things that God has provided for us,

and to thank him for the things he has given us.

Thy Kingdom Come in Mothers’ Union as in heaven

And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.

An invitation to accept God’s forgiveness

Thy Kingdom Come in Mothers’ Union as in heaven

And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.

An opportunity to reflect on God’s leading us through life

Thy Kingdom Come in Mothers’ Union as in heaven

For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.

An invitation to accept Jesus as king

Thy Kingdom Come in Mothers’ Union as in heaven

Amen.
