Updates on the Congo and Nigeria

The organisation Congo Now!, a coalition-led campaign to raise awareness of the continuing violence and civilian suffering in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC),  is asking for people to write to Lynne Featherstone, MP, calling upon her to get the UK government to act to help the women of the DRC.  Lynne, Liberal Democrat Home Office Minister, has recently become "International Violence against Women" Champion. The role will see her lead British efforts to tackle violence against women overseas.

The Congo Now! website has more details of how you can get involved, including a pro forma email.

We are asked to keep Nigeria in our prayers as they enter several rounds of elections. A good summary of what is happening can be found on the BBC News website.
