Why Pray?
As Christians, prayer is the most important thing we do. It is the foundation of our relationship with God – in words, as we share with Him our hopes and fears, our joys and sorrows – in the stillness of silence, as we listen to His promptings or just enjoy being in his presence.
When Mothers’ Union members are enrolled, we promise to pray regularly. We pray together in all our meetings and at home – we pray for each other, for our project work, within the Oxford diocese and for the work of the Mothers’ Union internationally. And we pray for the church and the world, especially about issues which affect family life.
Everyone can pray – when our members are no longer able to attend meetings or be more actively involved for whatever reason, they can become Indoor Members, with a very special ministry to pray.
