Link with Woodhill Prison

There are strong links now between the Newport Pagnell Branch of the Mothers’ Union and the Chaplaincy at HMP Woodhill.  The generosity of local members as well as the Diocesan MU  and Diocese of Oxford enabled a gift bag to be put together for every Christian prisoner for Christmas 2023.

For Easter 2024 they have given every prisoner, of any faith or none, an Easter egg labelled as having been given by Mothers’ Union.  As there were 325 needed we bought 136 of them from our funds. We trust this will show that the resurrection love of Christ is available to everyone.

 The Govenor of the prison wrote:

"Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness in offering support to some of our most vulnerable and complex men, many who are fathers and husbands and for whom Christmas time is very difficult.”
