Ethical Thinking

Mothers’ Union calls this Social Policy – but what is it?

We engage in Social Policy activities to try to achieve positive change and improvement in the lives of families in the UK and around the world. This is Christian social responsibility following the two fundamental issues in scripture of stewardship and caring for others which promote our ethical thinking.

Discussion Paper on School-based Sex and Relationships Education

Mothers’ Union seeks to promote flourishing and healthy relationships, and as such we are interested in how society can best equip and support young people in navigating relationships. The purpose of this discussion paper is to gather the valuable views and experiences of members throughout Britain and Ireland on the issue of school-based sex and relationships education (SRE), in order to support Mothers’ Union’s policy work in this area.

We would be grateful of you could please read through the information supplied (click here for the document), and answer the questions attached to the best of your ability, either as an individual or as a group. We would also be extremely grateful if you could widely circulate the discussion paper to other members, branches etc, to ensure that every member who would like to take part and lend their voice to this issue, is able to.

Please note that this discussion paper needs to be sent (either by email or post) to the Faith & Policy Unit at Mary Sumner House; please contact them directly via the email address below if you have any questions.

The completed discussion paper can either be emailed back to us at: policy@mothersunion.org, or returned by post to: Faith & Policy, Mothers’ Union, Mary Sumner House, 24 Tufton Street, London, SW1P 3RB.
