Mothers’ Union calls this Social Policy – but what is it?
We engage in Social Policy activities to try to achieve positive change and improvement in the lives of families in the UK and around the world. This is Christian social responsibility following the two fundamental issues in scripture of stewardship and caring for others which promote our ethical thinking.
We are a partner in the We Will Speak Out Coalition – a group of Christian organisations committed to ending sexual violence against everyone – men and women, boys and girls. (more…)
Internationally, we have Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) of the United Nations. (more…)
Some Social Policy news is included in Families Worldwide and Families First but more comprehensive and up to date news is found in the monthly Faith & Policy Watch.
Mothers’ Union seeks to promote flourishing and healthy relationships, and as such we are interested in how society can best equip and support young people in navigating relationships. The purpose of this discussion paper is to gather the valuable views and experiences of members throughout Britain and Ireland on the issue of school-based sex and relationships education (SRE), in order to support Mothers’ Union’s policy work in this area.
We would be grateful of you could please read through the information supplied (click here for the document), and answer the questions attached to the best of your ability, either as an individual or as a group.
