ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS are determined by the Diocesan Board of Trustees in the second half of the year when any increase due to Mary Sumner House (MSH) has been publicised. Approximately half of the Diocesan subscription is paid to MSH for the running of our global charity. The revised annual subscriptions are publicised before the end of the year in FOCUS.
Diocesan Members (DM) and Indoor Members (IM) pay their subs on receiving a request from the Diocesan Office in January. This is also an opportunity for additional payments to be made to different MU Funds. Payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer and from 2019 by Direct Debit.
Branch Members pay their subs to their branch treasurer or from 2019 by Direct Debit to the Diocese.
ANNUAL RETURNS are dispatched to branches in early January. All forms must be returned to the Diocesan Office by mid-March, together with a cheque for current year subscriptions, made payable to “Mothers’ Union, Diocese of Oxford”. Please complete carefully from your branch income / expenditure records. The opening balance is printed, being the closing balance from the previous year. When both columns are completed and the closing balances added, income & expenditure columns should balance.
Treasurers are requested not to keep a high balance in their accounts at the end of the year. It is recommended that branches hold around £200 or less at year end. Please review branch accounts in the Autumn and send surplus funds to the Treasurer (via Diocesan Office) in November or early December. Indicate which MU Funds are to be credited.

Check all members details, make corrections, add new members. Addresses are needed for FOCUS mailing.
Ensure all new members have completed and signed the membership application forms and include these in your Returns.

Payment of MU subscriptions by Direct Debit
This is being introduced across the Diocese during 2018 to begin DD collection of MU subs in 2019. Subscriptions can still be paid by the original methods described above, but DD collection will be efficient, involve less work for branches and decrease the numbers of lapsed members.
Direct Debit Mandates will be sent out to all members in 2018.
