Churn Branch Lights of Hope

Lights of Hope display

Revd Louise Butler writes…

Here is an example of an MU church display for the season between Advent and Candlemas, when our church focus is often on LIGHT. On Advent Sunday I enrolled 2 new members into the Churn Branch and spoke about MU being “Lights of Hope”.
There are 4 “lights” around the pictures of candles:

  • Our “weekly drop in coffee morning” provides a space for older people to meet, chat and make new friends
  • Our branch raises money for AFIA holidays
  • Our branch collects greetings cards for prisoners in Bullingdon
  • Our branch contributes to the support of parents with sick children at the JR.

Your branch may be helping lights to shine in other areas. There are plenty of MU lights shining in different parts of the world.

Verse of the Day

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” — Romans 1:20 Listen to chapter Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica.
