The Churn MU have been very active with their fundraising in November, involving all generations.
On 2nd November we held a sponsored TODDLE around St. Michael’s Church, Blewbury. 7 babies and pre-school children from our benefice Pram Service took part and had a great time on a sunny Autumn afternoon. The local press and village photographer recorded the event for us. Every time the children circled the church they collected a “well-done” sticker and at the end were awarded a certificate. With the help of our benefice congregations and the families involved, we have collected £500 for AFIA.
On 26th November we organised a “Winter Warmer” lunch at Upton Village Hall to raise funds for MU overseas projects. Members prepared six different home-made soups – all delicious- served with crusty bread and warm mince pies. We had over 40 guests; MU members, church and village people, such a friendly mix enjoying the company and supporting the projects MU undertakes across the world. Pat Weeks came along with MUe and with lunch donations, raffle and a craft stall, £300 was raised.
