UN Women

UN women logoInternationally, we have Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) of the United Nations.

Through our work at the UN, Mothers’ Union seeks to promote the voices of members worldwide as an alternative to national Governments and for those who remain unheard by their own Governments. We attend the annual CSW meeting – held in New York in early spring and contribute both by submitting a written paper and orally during debates. We have also been responsible for contributing to the wording of the final statements which are published when the Commission ends. We have run side events which enabled Worldwide members to give first hand testimonies of the positive impact that Mothers’ Union has had on their lives.

See our latest submissions on the central Mothers’ Union website.

Verse of the Day

“When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. ‘In Bethlehem in Judea,’ they replied, ‘for this is what the prophet has written: ‘“But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.”’” — Matthew 2:4-6 Listen to chapter Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica.
