Away from it All, Holidays and Respite

Psalm 23:1-3 (NIRV)

The Lord is my shepherd. He gives me everything I need.
He lets me lie down in fields of green grass. He leads me beside quiet waters. He gives me new strength.

We pray today for the Mothers’ Union “Away from it all” holiday scheme, for those families that use it, for the people who run it and all those who fundraise for this valuable project.
Amen

Dear Lord,
Thank you for holidays and a time to rest, for the chance to explore different parts of your beautiful world and to meet new people to befriend. We ask that you restore us with passion and energy, to better serve you in our daily lives on our return.
Amen

We give thanks for the work of those involved with the “Away From It All” project and for the numerous blessings it brings to many families. We also remember the colleagues outside the Mothers’ Union with whom we work in order that these families may have this opportunity for respite away from their problems.

Verse of the Day

“When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. ‘In Bethlehem in Judea,’ they replied, ‘for this is what the prophet has written: ‘“But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.”’” — Matthew 2:4-6 Listen to chapter Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica.
